The one that I found on my floor was definitely not alive. The one that jumped into the back section of the tank was alive and well. It took me about an hour to rescue him, there's not much room for a net so I tried sucking him out with my gravel VAC but that didn't work either! In the end I managed to bend my net so it would fit, then I had to wait for him to swim into it!Shelster said:Really good photos jaeger!
Silly question maybe..... Was the lampeye still alive?
I've had them before but didn't realise what jumpers they are!
6500K apparently.SLIM said:"The Ludwiga (front right) has started taking off like a rocket, but notice how the older leaves (when I purchased the plant) are red. I've started dosing Seachem Flourish Iron at 1.5ml per day in order to give it a bit of a boost. The Rotala Macranda (rear left) should benefit from this also, it's meant to be a bright pink, at the moment it's kind of yellow but still growing well"
Do you know what K range your lighting is as i believe red plants need somewhere between 6000k & 8000k + a good iron source to remain vibrant and red
Lookin awesome!
Wow, I did not know that. I'll be sure not to dose it at the same time, i'll double up the dose and only add it the same days I do Trace!SLIM said:Hmm perfect, could just be a lack of iron. Are you dosing your iron on a seperate day to your KH2PO4?
Because phosphates and iron bond rendering iron pretty much useless.
Adding Ascorbic Acid prevents this bonding C6H8O6
Or simply dose your KN2PO4 on a seperate day to your Iron
Yeah I've looked into that one Slim, read some really bad reviews. From what I've read, they cannot track Ph consistently and they don't update unless plugged into a computer. Also, I don't think they last very long before you have to replace one of the components...SLIM said:Iv actually been looking into this Seneye device that out. Have you heard of it. Its a device that sits in your tank and constantly monitors PH, ammonia, temperature and light intensity. And it downloads all the info to your pc with grafts and all sorts. It even alerts you when somethings not right. I want one lol
I got it from ebay. The light its self is a TMC Mini 400 (not to be confused with the 500 marine version) then the bracket that clips onto the tank is the 'TMC Mountaray'. They also sell a light controller for it, but don't waste your money, it's a glorified timer.ReddSam said:looking really nice, was just wondering where you got the light unit from as i just bought the same tank before stumbling across this
