Was mooching around my LFS today and saw this guy:

I have never seen a cory this big before!! I couldn't see a tag for it so have no idea what breed of cory it is. Does anyone keep these and have any pics? I wouldn't keep them myself but would be nice to see what they are like in a group!

Definitely isn't photoshopped. Straight from my iPhone to here, I don't even own photoshop!! Was in Maidenhead Aquatics in Shirley.

yea they can get real big, just taking a pic of them near black neons meesed me up as black neons are big also.

Could be brochis britskii, size of about 5 inches, but the body in that photo looks abnormally tall

I would say if I picked it up it would fit my entire hand!! I didn't think they could get that big, all mine are tiny compared to that one!! Wish I had seen the ticket to see how much they were charging for it. They had some beautiful Adolfi cory's as well but they were £15 each!!!

I've seen plenty of large cory, one of my Lfs has a display tank with albino & bronze cory about 4" & very chunky.
A lot of people don't realise those cute little ones in the Lfs can get big

Totally agree.  I have 2 such cories.  Each of them are at least 4" and look like giants next to the others in the group.  One is a pepper cory and the other is a bronze I believe.

Here is the bronze one next to one of the other bronze I have

The pepper is every bit that big as well but don't have a current pic at the moment

There are several Aeneus(bronze) species (14 I believe) and several underspecies. I have 4 and one of these species won't get bigger than C.Panda. Others (emerald / red) grow bigger and I adopted a large Peppered some time a go. Doubt if there are bigger ones than this Brochis thought.

Brochis species of cory do get huge. I have some emeralds that are really starting to fill out, but I also have some monster peppered corys and even my strebia are big. Even my dwarf corys are starting to get to the size of young peppered.
Maybe my fish are on steroids

But yes corys can get a lot bigger than expected and I believe the larger the tank they grow up in the better they grow to their full potential. Even my bristle nose catfish that spent 12 months in a 1000L pond ended up bigger than the average BN. My females are now huge and dwarf a young male I recently purchased.
