Missed this thread when it came around first time, but that catfish is almost certainly Brochis multiradiatus, they can be distinguished from all the other Brochis spp. by their high dorsal ray count (>15 if memory serves me correctly). I used to have 6 of these, they were all ~10cm SL and spent a surprising amount of time midwater when swimming in my 5x2x2. Sadly I lost them all one by one over a period of ~9 months, they were all at least 9cm SL when I got them and I did wonder if they were caught as old fish (as I could find no explanation for their deaths each time from water tests and observing the fish).
