Hi Alan, if my fish arrive then its all done and dusted for me as long as there are no DOA's in the box.... i will pm you his new contact details tomorrow if thats cool with you? i think the only reason i have got somewhere with this is due to the paypal claim as i have had a response from them today saying lee has given them a royal mail code for postage. it seems a bit of a coincidence that he contacts me 2 days after i make the claim..... he had sent me an email from a different address to what i had been contacting him on with a different mobile number, i dont know how he can remember my email address if his computer was stolen and his email account erased.... seems strange still but if i get my fish and they are delivered alive then im happy, i just wont do business with corys 4 u again.
as for all the other people he owes cash or products too then i hope they can sort it out too, im not going to post his details on here but i am willing to pm the new number and email address to people awaiting items.......

Matt

Thank you for the update Matt.

I would just like to add (incase anyone else is in the same position) that I did a BACS transfer from bank to bank so I am totally unprotected. I have contacted Citizens Advice and they have started the procedure of small calims whereby I have written to Lee on old contact information asking for final confirmation of the whereabouts of the goods or my refund. Some of the emails have been returned undelivered.

I hope I can contact him before it gets too far as it will then become very expensive for him. so the new details will be a step forward.

Thanks again

Alan

Good news Matt :good: will keep everything crossed they arrive on Tuesday :)
yeah me too, fingers crossed eh! they should be in the couriers/royal mails hands right now if arriving tomorrow. hope they are ok and not been thrown about too much.................. these will be the first mail order fish i have bought so not really sure of what to expect, probably dark coloured scared as hell fish!

Hi mattlee :)

I'll be thinking of you all day and waiting to see how your new fish are doing. :D

Corys usually ship fairly well, especially if the temperature is mild. When you open the styrofoam box you should find them double bagged with newspaper or styrofoam peanuts taking up the remainder of the space. There may be blue water in the bag and if so he used a product called Bag Buddies. This is optional but some sellers use it to help keep the fish calm.

When they arrive I like to get them out of the bag and into another container as soon as possible. I test the pH to be sure there is not going to be a drastic change when they go into my tank. If there is, I add tank water 1/4 to 1/2 cup at a time to gradually make the change. I keep them covered during this time to keep them calm and prevent possible jumping. An airstone in the container is helpful if this step is necessary. As soon as the water temperature is close, I net them out and into a quarantine tank. It's best not to waste any time during this process since they are in shipping water that now has a day's worth of ammonia in it.

Good luck!

hoping your fish arrive safe and well.....make sure you open the parcel in front of the postie though if you have to sign for it
have had the unfortunate situation before where ive recieved a parcel with stones in instead of goods i have ordered, but seeing as i signed for the parcel and had no witness paypal would not reclaim my money as they had their 'proof of delivery' and there was nothing more they could do apparantly (was an ebay purchase though not fish may i add) just trying to point out some sellers can be sneaky :)

ive just got back from work and......

my wife has taken delivery of 2 peru gold stripe and 2 peru green stripe corys :hooray: :band: :- :drinks: :yahoo:
she has adapted them to the qt tank water and added them after doing pretty much what inchworm described, the lights are off in the tank so not to scare them as im sure they have had a rough journey (royal mail). from what i can see there are deffo 2 of each and they seem a little static but im sure they will come round soon.
ill post pics on this thread tomorrow perhaps if i can get any good ones.
im so glad they arrived and i have not got to go through the paypal claim etc etc. i was getting rather bothered though that i had been riped off. it does seem strange that i got contact 2 days after starting the claim though dont you think?
for those wanting the contact details of lee please pm me and ill send it for you :good: i hope you can sort your probs out too.....

its a shame as his website and company would have been a great help to me and others as i love corys especially the lasers i ordered but cant find any around locally.
i dont know if i believe his stories or not, possibly not, but i have my fish so am not out of pocket like yourself and others. i wont be using his services again.

good luck, Matt
