I have 7 harlequins alongside 2 small catfish and a betta in a 55l tank, last week what looked liked bubbles appeared in a quiet spot and were like betta eggs although mine is male. Then a couple of days ago after the "eggs" had gone on of the harlequins went very red and stayed around the plants and today the smallest one has gone almost completely white. What do the colour changes mean and have I missed a chance for them to reproduce?

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

I can't tell anything from the picture due to the purple light

I may look.like different colors because of the purple lighting... I also can't see much in the picture. Try using normal LED light as different colors may stress fish. I know blue light can

So the little one above the rock was the same as the others in the picture until yesterday now he is just white

I see it but I don't at the same time... It would be nice to see it under "pure" light... Where its "not" colored and instead is a white LED lighting. It would make it 100× easier for us to see what's wrong with it

That fish is not a great example of a Harlequin and looks like it is deformed. I think you will find it is it's on it's last legs

It looks smaller and discolored but not deformed... Are we looking at the same fish? Which one are you looking at?

Is this better? He was always the smallest one but had the correct colouration like the others till yesterday

The one above the rock
Ok. Yah he doesn't look deformed. Just small for some reason... Li!e the OP said. He has always been the smallest its just the colors habe gone for some reason

He is just a badly shaped fish, there is nothing you can do for him.
He is wondering about the color not the shape... Obviously the fish WAS doing good but then over night the colors changed. Could it be a different species of rasbora? Or is it just a smaller harlequin?

What species of Rasbora has that body shape?
