dudes if i have a small gourami will he eat the little fry guppys?

replys are greatly appreciated

dude!

Most likely. Usually any fish that can fit them in his mouth will eat them, with the exception of some Plecos and Cories.

if you want to save the fry from being eaten you can buy a breeding trap which just goes in side the original tank from the lfs to section them off from the rest of the fish until they are big enough to be released in to the original tank in about 10 months time :)

try moving the fry to another tank, sure to get eatin

Good advice except for the time frame given; guppies grow up in a lot less than 10 months, and I really would not advocate keeping them in a trap for much more than a few weeks to a month; they need to move around to develop their strength.

yeah sorry about that part was tired when i wrote that , i agree i would say they would be safe to go back in the main tank when they are about 4 months old or so i have a small 20litre tank for my baby guppies, i was more thinking about when i had baby platies as they are slower growing than guppies

Hi Dude
Hows the guppys going did you get a breeding trap? Try not to keep them in there too long the trap can become quite messy. Good Luck  Ivor
PS when its time to set them free (about 2-3 weeks) let one out first, its better to loose one then all of them

Even if you have other types of fish with your fry it is most likely that 30% of them will live.
