WHAT!Specifically from Pets At Home - that place is horrible. Some one one here said that they recommend 12 fish in a 22ish liter tank, and they could add 4 more if they wanted. Why on earth would they think that is ok? I just don’t get why their information is so twisted...

I think they are getting better. I got a grilling about my tank when I went to get half a dozen neons. (How big was the tank? Was it established? What else was in there? etc)Pets at Home are general pets stores and in all the branches I've been in the fish are tucked away in the back corner. They are run the way each individual manager wants though they still have to go by the worksheets written by head office. Last time I listened in on someone buying fish, they shop worker had to fill in a questionnaire about the customer's tank and they were not allowed to sell more than 6 fish to any customer regardless of how big the tank was, or how mature the tank was.
It's a good few years since I went near the fish section, though we were in one branch earlier this year getting a few bits for our newly adopted cat. Luckily you can buy feeding bowls and cat litter without asking a member of staff for help
Exactly. And the fish P@H “recommend” were danios. (Zebra and leopard, which we all know needs quite a large tank)WHAT!
12 fish?
In a 22l tank - but that's tiny!
I'm not sure I'd even put a single betta into a tank that size, personally.
(Probably tried to sell them 12 silver barbs or something similar as well)
I saw essjay saying earlier thought your other fish are CPDs,
Yes, I did say pearl danios not celestial pearl danios. That's the problem with common names, they can be confusedShe said pearl danio, not CPD. I agree with Essjay.
Sorry, I missed that. I have just had a look.@essjay did you see post 56?
I added some photos of the filter.
