i bought some guppies yesterday, no sooner had they settled into their new home, but one female decides to drop all her fry. I thought i'd have a few days to prepare the fry tank at least. I had to shoot over the pet shop and get myself a trap to temporarily house the fry. Some were born into the tank and have survived the first few hours, but i've seen at least 10 eaten. I tried distracting the other tankmates with daphnia which seemed to work and at present i still have about half dozen swimming freely and another dozen in the trap.

just thought i'd share, i'm really chuffed, even though it was a major inconvience as i have no tank to rear them in yet.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I think that happens alot when you rehouse preggers guppies, must be the change in water or something!!

Good luck with the little ones

Lucky.... The fry my guppies have dropped have been immediatly eaten. Pronto! I'm still cycling the nursery tank at present. Hopefully, sometime in the next six weeks, I'll be ready to get serious.
