well everything is up and running but are there some basic regulator settings i should use? i think i remember reading somewhere a bubble a second but im not sure. i have it at a real low rate right now till i figure things out. thanks
That's more or less what mine's at. Keep a very close eye on it for the first few days.
And I know there is a nifty forumla somewhere I've seen that works it out just about perfectly, but don't know where I've seen it
will definately keep an eye, as i remember reading someones tale here also about the bottle being cold and not yet at room temp creating pressure differences...
I don't entirely agree with that formulae. It assumes that the higher your KH the more physical CO2 output one requires. This is not true.
KH and CO2 aren't directly linked, only via pH. If I had a KH of 3 or 30 I would still require the same bubbles per minute to reach the desired level of CO2. For instance I have a KH of 3.5 and 60 BPM gives me 30ppm CO2. If my KH was 7 then 60 BPM would still give me 30ppm CO2, not as the formulae suggests, less than 30ppm.
