This species can vary in color usually speckled with black and some can be more yellowish in color still it is a very nice peaceful fish to keep

Yes just seen the PM looking through the list now Characodon Audax is really what I want , what sort of price would the Audax be , the Audax was the 1st Goodeid I ever had , stopped having fish around 6 years ago & just started again 12 months ago never thought I'd see these amounts of Goodeids again in the UK

Just got back from my local fish dealer , I keep asking them on a weekly basis if they have any Goodeids coming in always the same answer ( difficult to find ) so I told them I could supply them with Ameca Splendens as I have 100's which they were happy to accept - really happy to do so , it will get lots more people in the area interested in this wonderful species .

Is the white on the margin of the caudal fin a sexual difference?

The yellow band on the Caudal Fin is the male a bit different to other livebearers who have a gonopodium , these have andropodium flexible anal fin rays used to clasp the female during mating.

Ah, yellow is what I was expecting but they looked white in the video. It would be fascinating to see a close up video of him grasping.
