glofish whats your take

I don't have them but I do have glo-light tetra that I didn't buy (came with one of my new tanks and we very badly treated), I quite like them.

I don't agree with 'making' fish but what's done is done and the vast majority of fish available to use are far removed from their ancestors.

My glo fish is the hardiest fish in my tank. It never takes crap from my puffer and when all the other danios in my tank got fin rot (one has died and the another is still on the brink) Its fins are still stiff and full . Unfortunatly it got to be kindof dark on top, covering up the flourescent proteins but its still beutiful and healthy.

Oh and It eats like a pig It ate a 3 inch long earth worm the other day 3 INCHES!

I had a big long thread but i deleted it :p i am keeper of a glofish and i kinda like the bugger. :mama:  :fun:

Personally, I don't even think that the situation even goes far enough for ethics to have to get involved.

The GloFish that I've seen in stores look almost nothing like the pictures you see of them in print. In "real life", they look just like danios with a little pink tinge.

$7 for a danio because it's just a little pink? No, thanks.

Thats why I'm trying to breed mine with an albino danio to get rid of the blue stripes.
