Fish Crazy
Sometimes friends are not to be trusted with animals......
Some of you saw my other post " Run Ginxy Run" I needed to vent to someone as I was never able to really tell her story.
Ginxy was a kitten I bred in 2005, she was not show quality so normally I rehome them free of charge on the conditions that the new owner sign my contract which states the animal may not be bred from , have regular vet checks etc. as any responsible breeder would do. My good friend showed interest in her so I let them have her without hesitation.
After a few months I starting getting questions like " How much would her babies be worth?" it was then I started to get suspicious...so I demanded they have her spayed. Well we sort of stopped talking until one day I get a phone call to say she was on call and their Moggy would not stop humping her. Of course I was livid. Swore a bit and then put the phone down.
Ginxy became pregnant and at half term she was as big as a full term pregnancy. Mind you this cat was only 7 months old. idiots!
I got a call to say she was having her kittens and would not take care of them so I went over and to my horror she was thrown in a tiny bathroom with a cardboard box with NO bedding and her kittens were all over the floor. They had been left for so long that the kittens were stuck to the floor by their placentas and could only move in the tiny circle that the length of the cord allowed them.
I immediately cut the cords warmed them up , got a blanky and put them with her. Ginxy was sat in the corner frightened to death not knowing what to do. I said to them that she needs to go to the vet as I suspected she had mastitis. " We can't afford to take her to the vet!"
Then why the H*** did you let her get pregnant? again ..Idiots!
I said " Let me take her for you and I will pay for it" and the whole time I'm thinking , just let me get this cat out of this house lord.
I took her and thats the last time those 2 sickos saw her again.... she had 7 kittens ...7?? My cats have never had a litter that big. I was just sick. She lost all but 3 and I raised them until they were 15 weeks old and now they have lovely homes with works colleagues. I still have not gotten over it. In Ginxies photos you will notice that she has a silver coat on black. Due to all of the trauma she was exposed to during this birth it has caused her to have a " Stress Coat" she is a Black self exotic short hair, basically a pure black cat. I have no idea how long it will take for her to get her normal black coat back. I can assure you that she will NEVER leave this house again unless it's over my fat dead cold body. She was so skinny that you could feel her spinal cord.
I have to say that the guilt I feel over this cat is overwhelming ...........here she is loved , fat and happy! I want u guys to see her right after I got her and what she looks like now.
Notice in this picture how skinny her neck is and the hair loss on the back of the neck , not to mention all of the grey in her coat, this is NOT normal and is due to stress. This pic was taken shortly after the birth at my house.
