Quick quessie...

How long 'roughly' does it take a mollie fry to get to a decent size so it can b removed from the floating hatchey and put in the tank with all the other fish?

Weeeelll...the usual rule of thumb is when it's too big to fit in the biggest fish's mouth. So it depends on how big your fish are. :p If you tell us what fish, we could probably give you an estimate. :)

It's very very tiny! I only have the one....if there was more they must have been eaten.

Do you mean the kind of mollie or what fish I have in my tank???

The fry is a dalmation mollie and what fish I have is in my signature.

He's still way 2 tiny what with the opaline gouramis we have (one in particular!!) but just wondered on a time scale - how long it takes for the baby to grow to the decent size???

Like asking how long is a peice of string! lol

Mmm...to get to a decent enough size for the Gourami not to bug him....I'd say 2-3 months, probably. But then, it depends how big your Gourami is, and whether it's male or female. :)

Here is a pic of the biggest Gourami we have....

There both girls.

Guessing a few months would be about right.

We have had the Gourami for about 4 months now, the one in the pic has growm considerably since we first got her!!

Yeah, I'd say probably 2-3 months for the fry. But you'll have to see, fry develop at different rates. :)

What are you feeding and how often?

Feeding them Tetra baby food of some kind - is very fine so easy for the fry to eat...

About 3 times a day!?!

What else should I feed the fry to help it's growth? I am going out tomorrow for some things for the tank could get it then.

Tetra fry food is good for now. As is three times a day. Good job! :D

You could try giving them some kind of Live/Frozen/Freeze-dried food. That would help him grow a little faster, and it's good for him. Especially when he gets on flake food. Some small blanched veggies for him to nip on would be good too, but probably better when he gets slightly older.
