From The Ashes. Another Planted Journal

Deeper would be better. Water changing a 30g would be a joke to me as well. I will want something without the ugly black bars on every tank here.

It'll be awhile before I collect all the bits for it. I'd need everything, a lighting unit, filter...etc.

I was thinking of doing led lighting, It looks so lovely on Ian's and Ps3steveo's tanks. I like the coloring you get from the lights as well.

I got my 30 gallon aqueon starter kit on sale for $70 at petco, $150 regularly. You could try to look for that, but the light unit sucks.

I'm going to keep my eye out for something without a rim. I'm not in a hurry at least. I may have to buy it after I move anyway.

My Hagen 30 gallon is rimless (they call it European style ) and since Hagen is discontinuing this serie the price has gone down with 50%. It comes as a complete package with stand, hood, filter etc.

 Crud, thanks a lot! lol I'll go look. :) I do like the idea of having a play tank. I'm so interested in planting and I just feel it in my bones that I can do some awesome stuff. My main issue will be how to get ahold of plants efficiently, but I've been testing out some different sellers, when I move I'll be joining the Atlanta Aquatic clubs and I'll be able to find better sources form there I am sure.

 Not finding a retailer on my quick search. I'll have to go look harder later.

try and have a look for a opti white, i know ADA tanks may be a little cheaper in the US of A. Have a look out for Do!Aqua as well. As said if you're serious then try a 60cm...the are renowned for being the easier tank to start with. :good:

Thanks, I am serious. I have always had a green thumb and plants everywhere, but aquatics really clicked with me. I'll keep my eye out for those types

:hyper: You gave me the perfect thing to search!!!! I have found sources for rock, lovely aquariums! the works folks!

I didn't find the opti white yet, but I found this website My link

In all my searching, how has this never popped up? :)

The Do!Aqua tank says it has a green tint. Is that right?

I have found rocks and plants. It's like Christmas! There's even some really beautiful LED units. I may just pick everything out and order after I move. That's a long way out, but it's one less tank to move with and a moving company packs our stuff and takes it. We have no control over how gentle they are.

The prices aren't unreasonable. It'll cost less at least, then when I started my 75g.

 Ok. So it won't cost less. I am thinking of having all glassware, LED lighting, a new filter... I have found several types of rocks that I having been wishing for, and different types of wood. I think If I plan one huge order, then I'll only pay shipping once and have a nice supply closet.

That's how I roll with all my other hobbies as well. If you could see the amount of fabric I have for quilting...

Sorry for talking to myself and boring everyone. I can't help it. I have been frustrated for months by my limitations.

Let's just say outloud for fun. AQUASKY. Oh yeah.

Ya big geek - and I'm just jealous because my tank development is on hold for a while. Oh well, the plants will keep on growing! :D

lol I did get carried away yesterday. I'm not actually buying this stuff yet, I was just happy to have found places that supply what I need. I'm such a nerd. lol
