What would you say is the average amount of fry a pair of bettas produce?

EDIT: preferably answers from people who have bred them before and the average amount of fry they got.

I think that when someone comes on asking about or talking about breeding, the reason others jump all over them is because, essentially, they really care about fish and are looking out for the fish, but also for the hobbiest. Sure, many of you could try to do so in a nicer, more tactful way, rather than literally jumping all over the person, but at least you show you care and try to help, rather than letting the breeding-newbie stumble about.

But when folks new to breeding come on and ask questions or start talking about a first spawn not going well or what not, be supportive, don't put them down. Kindly point them in the direction of the excellent resources this forum already provides on teh subject. Without judgement, ask them about their set up, about how or if they've conditioned the fish, etc, etc. Then tactfully point out any issues you see, make helpful suggestions for improvement. Don't just say "You idiot, you're doing it wrong! Didn't you do your research?". Many of our newbie breeders come here after they had decided to breed and really hadn't considered how intense of a project it can be. Give them a little credit, at least they recognized there was a problem and that they came here to get some help.

Sometimes, they may not be real familiar with forums and how they work. They may not even be aware of the Search function (I know I didn't even see that little bar of options for the first couple weeks, I was too busy trying to read posts and figure out how to post pictures and find out what an avatar was.) So take a minute to link them. You're not doing the work for them, you're just pointing them in the right direction. If that's too difficult for you, then move on and let those with the patience for it deal with, rather than making some harsh comment about it.

Remember, you were new to forums, to fish and to breeding fish once too. You were once unsure of where to begin or where to find information or what to do. So have a little patience with those that are new now, show your community spirit and help them out rather than put them down or try to discourage them from the hobby.

Hmmm... cat fights! LOL
If you feels angry to see the same thing repeat, all you have to do is type nothing. If you feels happy to see a question that you like to help, then type. :)
That is my 2 cents. :D Everyone is not perfect so lets deal with it and move on. :) PEACE!
:hey:

Don't tell me that you going to get 500 over babies! LOL She might put a spell on you and curse you too. LOL

Just a general comment about owners and their pets, but there seems to be quite a few people with betta tempers on here at times
