My friendly lfs has got me a flame hawkfish on order  I am due to pick it up tomorrow  I have given it a google, and it's compatability seems to be fine within the reef system. My only worry is that one site stated that it may be aggressive with other bottom dwellers, if there is not enough room or places to hide.

My tank contains a few fish which live or hang about the labarinth of LR that i have created.

A Yellow Watchman Goby

A Fire Fish

A Royal Grammer (which i purchased to replace my sadly missed Orchid Dottyback R.I.P)

And a Coral Beauty that roams the reef in search of food.

The tank is 85gals UK. The rock work is placed, to have three distinct piers so fish can escape from eyeshot of each other, should the need arise.
Currently there is total harmony in my tank (apart from the bickering between the shoal of seven green chromis), but it only takes one bad choice of fish to upset everything :-( So can any one see a problem with the introduction of a flame hawkfish, or have any advisory comments before i go ahead with the purchase?

Thanks

The tank is does seem big enough for the hawk to not be aggressive. The only one you'd REALLY have to worry about is the Watchman Goby. He's only one fish though in such a huge tank. So it shouldn't be a problem.
Good luck and may he live a million years. :)

I have a pair of flame hawks in my 37g, along with my firefish, midas blenny, and a sebae clownfish. No aggresion so far. I've had them about a week. I'm more worried about my shrimp, from what I've read flame hawks are known to eat shrimp. Good luck.

All sould be fine with the hawk, and he'll soon be your favourite character in the tank, my falco sits and watches everything that goes on in the room from his favourite perch
