Thanks FF04! got any other spooky plant recommends then? I'm going to check out these crypto's...so apt a name! Is it anubias or something like that...they are dark-leaved?

Big advantage with the river pebbles; no problem anchoring plants in the substrate! Oh no, I feel a mini plant project coming on...

The crypts are not like anubias. They get planted in the substrate and have a nice root system. They are a few variety's but the red and brown are darker. None of the lime green you find with other plants

Not sure about other suitably creepy plant types, if I come across any I will give you a shout.

Just seems an idea to go from fishless cycle to the end result - so a quick vid of the completed set-up...so far!



and a bonus if anyone looking can ID the bunch of plants at rear by powerhead towards the end of the video!!
