Fish that you would never keep again.

Black SKirt Tetras.  Also sold as a community fish.....but only if packs of 5 or more.  Any less than 5, and they get aggressive; and eat my female betta alive!
Are you serious? Maybe you're thinking of black phantom tetras, now those are nippy. I love my tetras and I have 3 long finned black skirts in with 7 white skirts and in with fancy male guppies and a female betta and those tetras NEVER touched a tail or shown any aggression. Maybe you had too few, otherwise, they fill out any tank perfectly and are so well behaved. :p
Back on track, I owned a CAE and he obviously didnt work out but i dont really hate them. I wouldn't never own tiger barbs or convicts again.

Yep, Black Skirt Tetras.

Black Skirt Link

Says that can be nippy.......killers IME (slowly though, my female died of infection; to go along with the huge bites taken out of her side).

Had a friend whose black skirts got nippy, but never killed anything. I told her what had happened with mine and she took hers back.

I was later told that keeping them in groups of 5 or more lowers their aggression.

Covicts. Breeed like rabbits. Ugly. And eat and kill every thing else.

PS, silver dollars too. They munched on my decor!

Fish I will not keep or never purchase again
Piranahs, guppies, mollys, platys
Tiger Barbs, Bettas, Dwarf Aquatic Frogs
Gouramis (I love them but they are too agressive)
Goldfish, Chinese Algae Eaters, convicts,
oscars, any fish over 15" long

CAE's are my worst ever purchase by a long way. I liked my con's when I had them, but difficult to rehome all the fry!!

There are two: guppies and rosy barbs. Here's why...

Guppies are good fish and I think the males are very pretty and more than make up for the females' blandness. My first exposure to aquariums was a guppy tank at work, and when they bred and had their first batch of fry, I went out and bought myself a 10 gallon for home. I've had a few generations of guppies in there, but frankly, I'm tired of them constantly breeding! They're good starter fish, mine have always been very hardy, and I would recommend them for beginners, but I wouldn't buy anymore. (And I don't really have to, since they keep breeding!)

Rosy barbs are nice, but they *always* nip me when I'm cleaning the aquarium! I thought maybe the ones we have in my other work tank are just bold, but I got some for my home tank and they do the same thing. It doesn't hurt, but it gives me a start. I dislike it the way I get scared when a balloon pops. :p

So while both are nice fish, I would not buy them again for my own tanks.

Hands down a Chinese Algae eater. I had one living peacefully in my tank for about 8 months. Then he matured and started eating everyone's slime coat. He ended up killing a beloved angel that was 5+ years old and numerous other tanks mates. Stupid thing!

Mollies --especially the females. Someone mentioned PMS? I think that sums it up well. My females were very mean to each other. Plus waaaaaaay too many fry. Too bad, as I think the black ones are very pretty.

USD cats -- bought 3, 2 died and the 3rd one infected the tank. Only see him once in a blue moon. Always stuck in between the heater and the back glass.

RED DEVILS! I bought one. it ate 1/2 my tiger barb plus all of two more, it ripped the eye of my little goldfish and pulled scales off all my bigger goldfish that were twice it's size! evil evil evil !!!!
