Fish that you would never keep again.

Any sort of livebearer unless it's going to be used as food, or any sort of fish that shows no personality what so ever, like most (almost all!) small fish.... Very few bettas, and after the female I have croaks I'm only getting plakats. Oh, and pictus catfish, thank god my brother is taking the one I have!

I have to keep guppies or my leaf fish would starve

I will never get any more:
Bettas-take up space
Tetras-brain dead
Danios-Same as tetras
Rainbow cichlids-Way too skittish, breed too much
Blue gouramis- Too aggressive for a gourami, takes up space
Pearl gouramis-They bore me
Otos- mine have failed in doing the job I got them for :p
Jewel cichlids- Too aggressive, reproduce to quickly
Fish I didn't have but will never have:
Platies-Bore me
Mollies-Bore me
Fancy guppies-Bore me

I hope I don't offend anyone :p

I think I have the biggest list so far
How can u put rainbow cichlids on that list? Skittish? u must have a wierd one because mine is even more personable than my severum. They are awesome. And when they breed its not like they kill o fyur tank. The other fish would eat the fry any ways. U gotta love teh rainbows*rant over*

Ok my list
Spotted raphael- I never see it and it doesnt clean
tetra- boring
Danios- More boring
Livebearers- Breed a lot and boring
Festivum- Doesnt do anything but harrass new fish
Betta- BOooooooooooooooooooring
Cories- THEY ALL FREAKIN DIE

Dwarf Gourami- They die and are boring
gOLD GOURAMI - They bother everything
RTBS- Boring and too aggressive at full size

I hate to say it but the fist fish that springs to mind is the betta. I loved them for a while, but I have really got bored of them now...
Also tetra, in general. They look nice in a shoal but i would want a truly large shoal of them if i were ever to keep them again.

I can't stand guppies. They're not hardy, and I don't even think they're very nice-looking! They look overdone, like a rich woman wearing a fur coat and fancy hat to play mini-putt golf. IMO, very overrated.

I am going to be moving to a new house in less than a month. I seriously doubt that the Mbunas that I have will be making the trip with me. I have decided that there is not a lot of joy in watching fish being mean to each other all day. So, back to the fish store they will go.

Black SKirt Tetras. Also sold as a community fish.....but only if packs of 5 or more. Any less than 5, and they get aggressive; and eat my female betta alive!
I'm surprised to hear that! I only have 2 of them, and they are the most laid back, peaceful fish in my whole tank. I think you just got some bad apples :p

Fish I would never keep/never keep again:

Mollies, female bettas, platies, CAEs, guppies, swordtails, clown loaches.

Ottos, never had any luck with those guys.

Never had mollies, guppies or swordtails and NEVER will. Just breeding factories IMO
*Earthgirl ducks*

LOL I teased my hubby about that when I get the 120 gallon I would fill it wil guppies. He glared :shifty:

Oh, and also Kuhlie Loaches. I rarely see them.
that's what I kinda like about them. They're the unexpected surprise when visitors look in the tank, peeking out from their cave and cute with those whiskers.

gouramis get a bad rap because they can have such different personalities. My blues, golds and pearls are quite happy together. They remind me of Oscars when they intertwine.

OK, so what I don't like...

any overly-agressive fish :grr:

most silver fish, like scissortails, especially one that a friend gives you after tearing down their tank and can't part with. :/

plecos-they're just ugly, grow too big and sucking on the tank kinda grosses me out

Fish that I would never (ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever) keep again:

• tiger barbs -- nasty little buggers chased/bit each other 24/7 (yes, they were in a group of 7)

• fancy guppies -- all have died except for one male that I bought from Petsmart (figures). I'm actually breeding him with the "feeder" guppies in order to get a stronger, more disease resistant breed of guppy! We'll see how that turns out...

• dannios -- very hardy and veeeeeeeerrrry boring

..... i was seriously thinking about getting myself some fancy guppies in the near future. i never used to like them because i thought they were a bit disproportionate and over the top. but ive recently started to see them differently and now after reading how many ppl put them at the top of their 'never' again list i dont know what to do..

has anyone had any positive experiences with them?

Hatchetfish for me...ich, ich, ich. Picky eaters. Buenos aires tetra....nothing but trouble for plants. SH
