I've had the above of one of my lfs trying to sell me fish that aren't suited cough cough ( petsathome )

But I'm currently trying to get a job at one of my other lfs as I get to care for all different types of fish plus I get to learn so much more.

If I get the job I would never advise on buying certain fish if I don't no if they are suited

I was in my LFS only yesterday and was looking at the tanks when I noticed a 'Mixed Chichlid' tank, in the tanks was around a dozen different Chichlids, one in particular was cowering in the corner, there was another very large one about 9-10" long a lot bigger than the rest and he was chasing them all around.
I called one of the assitants over and mentioned it, he said, "Oh it's OK they are Chichlids, they do that all the time, nothing to worry about," I told him about the one in the corner cowering and said it is scared and needs moving out, again he insisted it was alright.
While I was still looking another couple were also looking at the fish and one asked if the Gouramis they were looking at were OK to put with the others they had, the assited said, "Oh yeah they will be fine," he didn't ask if there were any males in the stock the couple already had or what type they had.
Like already mentioned, I try to advise if I know better but a lot of people think you are interfering and think you are wrong, some do appreciate your advice though.

I know exactly what you mean here. Iv got another couple of fish stores close by which are not as good as maidenheads and iv overheard some of the advice given by staff and some has been terrible... To the point where iv though I can't NOT say anything. So I wait for the staff member to leave and then advise correctly to avoid the customer falling into the trap and potentially making a big mistake. Luckily everyone iv give advice to so far has taken it over the staff's false info.
