Hi all :D

Here is a list I put together for my 36" long tank once it is cycled.
2 - Brichardi
1 - Ps. Socolofi
1 - Leleupi
5 - Nanochromis Parilius (Nudiceps) don't know about this one because of hard water.

Please give me your opinions ie. to many, could add more, should I get them all at once or onesy twosy etc.

Thanks to all who reply, Rudy.....

hey....

nannochromis require soft acidic water, a definite no-no in a Lake set-up..........

not sure bout the others.....

hth

Thanks Firetank

I thought that might be the case but wasn't sure. New to Cichlids and trying not to make to many mistakes

no probs... are you set on the lake set-up though???

dependent upon your water at source, you could go for a softwater dwarf cichlid tank...

maybe even a african river biotope, including those Nudiceps.......

if you like that idea i can throw a lot of ideas for species at you........>>>>??

I would like to here your sugestions on the biotope and the dwarf tank. I will have a free tank shortly. its a 30 gallon I was thinking maybe planted but I am still brainstorming. And I am a cichlid fan. Any ideas are very appreciated :D :D

for the biotope -- sandy substrate, lots of smooth worn pebblescobbles, well planted lots of vallis, anubias........ maybe a couple of low laying pieces of bogwood.......

for inhabitants....

3 pairs of dwarf cichlids -- from ; nannochromis transvestitus, parilius or nudiceps
anomalochromis thomasi, pelviachromis species(not necc. pulcher, but there are many sub-species -- taenitus etc.......)

maybe a synondontis -- probably nigriventis poss eupterus........
a group of african red-eye tetra or possibly congos.........

youd need a decent current running through, and either natural ph running 6-6.5 or the use of RO water,
andor peat filtering.....

edit:// there are also the pseudocrenilabrus species cichlids, and even the ctenopoma sp. anabantids would fit in quite well.....

thats what I'd go for anyways.......

thanks firetank You have a link were I could take a look at the little guys, and a link to see the plants what are cobblestones?
