Some of my fish have names and some don't. My blue and red Betta was named "Spiderman Fish", after I saw that someone else on here had used a similar name for one of their fish. I'm partial to the movie "Spiderman" because my boyfriend and I went to see it on our first date. I named the fish "Spiderman Fish" because of that, not to copy someone else (seeing that someone else used a similar name gave me the idea of using 'Spiderman' in the name). My other two Bettas are un-named.
One of my Platies is "Blue", 'cause she has some gray/blue coloring. One of my white w/black spots Platies is named "Perdita" after the mommy Dalmation in "101 Dalmations". The rest of the Platys remain un-named, at least for now.
My Panda Cory is named "Panda" (original, huh?). My other two Corys don't have names, at least for now.
My Plec is named (Pet.) Ether. That's after a chemical we use in chem class - Petroleum Ether, usually shortened to Pet. Ether. In chem lab one day, I decided that I should name my Plec "Ether" so that I could have my "Pet. Ether".
My chem teacher and fellow students found it amusing
Jean Claude and Sebastian are the names of my Ghost Shrimp. They just seemed like good names for them. Sebastian is after the crab in "The Little Mermaid". Jean Claude just seemed like a good name for Sebastian's buddy. <shrugs>
There you have it - the whys of my fishs' names.
