Help! I've just bought my first fish in my life, and I have two Molly Fish. One is silver marbled and the other crimson. When I bought them, the clerk at the store told me that keeping them in a bowl is fine, but when I looked them up on the net it said the tank should hold at least 15 gallons of water, do I really need to get this aquarium if I expect my fish to survive? Quite frankly, I can't afford that! Also, I'm only feeding them flaked food, is this ok? Please give me ALL and EVERY bit of advice you can give to me about raising two Molly Fish. Thanks in advance!

:dunno: :S :*)

Hi
Sorry but I know nothing about mollies other than you probably shouldnt be keeping them in a bowl.If you post thisquestion in the beginner section you will probably get more response
Cheers and by the way, welcome to the forums

Definetly you should upgrade. You can't keep mollies in a bowl because no filteraton and no oxygen flow. You can easy keep mollies in a 10 gallon. They are also pretty cheap to buy like only $15.

Yes, if they are Pacific Mexican Mollies, You could fit 3 in a 10 gallon. they'd each have 3 1/3 gallons to themselves though. Could ya post a pic of the Crimson molly?

you should try a 5-10 gallon tank with heater and filter flake food is plenty fine mine like it fine . allthis will cost you is like $30-$40 and if your thinking about getting into the hobbie i would deffently recomend getting something like that its worth it how i helped :D

I actually disagree,,,,
I think 10 gallons is going to be too small to keep Mollies permanently. They can get to 3-4"... 15 gallons sounds better. 20 gallons would be great.

If you really can't afford a 15-20, I suppose you could get a 10 gallon now and then upgrade later, as they get bigger...

Flakes are fine to be feeding them for now, though. :) But yes, you will need to get them out of that bowl!

Best of luck!
