First Proper Planted Tank

I did really well with coffeefolia and barteri vs. nana. The vallis may shade it a little if you see problems. Mine was pretty close to the surfaced even. I did notice slightly lighter leaves.

Difficult in a nice way though mate. Will send you that money when I get on the computer buddy.

I found barteri and barteria nana to be fine quite close to the light, like 3" away. Had less algae than the ones on the bottom!

thanks both will look into them, Had Anubias before under high light but no co2 and it got covered in algea, luckily I had some Oto's to clean it... don't have any in this tank.

Yeah love having my little girl, just not the 2 and a half hour drive picking her up, 2 and a half hour drive back to mine! lol. No rush bout the money mate in your own time. Which tank is the Japonica going in?

why not try something a little different and go with a small stem ? Rotala ?, Vallis it a little boring IMO.

yup 5 hours!! this is what happens when you are not careful!!! lol wouldn't change her for the world though.

Think I will try the rotala, if I don't like I will try the vallis!

Nice plant. Will look great behind all that green. I'm still having vallis in my tank so But only because it will be a biotope.

I like Rotala rotundifolia too but mine grew green at the bottom and didn't get pink until it was really close to the light. My lighting could be slightly higher.
