First Proper Planted Tank

Always had a soft spot for some GBR's or Golds, but frightened i couldn't provide them with soft, acidic enough water.

And the fact that they are showing signs of breeding is another plus! :hyper:

I thought the same mate but 50/50 RO and tap water sorts the softness out and the wood substrate and co2 bring the pH right down, I will be over the moon if the breed

Quick update, started to tidy tank up during the week but after a bout of man flu had to stop finally finished today. Need a tallish plant for the background, removed a hell of a lot of Japonica and planted some more hair grass, please leave some feed back.

HAHA yes CPD's, yeah the Japonica looks tones better in real life! am thinking of moving rams to the 110L when I can finally get that sorted, tried again this week and now want to throw it through window (no chance of original idea tank not wide enough)!! then leave the CPD's in this tank and lower temp to around 22-23c. They will be more happy at a better temp and Rams will get more room, 110L 28c with a shoal of around 25-30 cardinals

You and your bloody Cardinals!!!!

I would get the Rams settled in first. The change of tank may spur them on to lay. Also, the less tank mates the better with regards to breeding them.

Yes was going to move the rams first, May even just leave it as a tank for them if they do breed... we shall see, the female is still huge and the male is becoming increasingly aggressive(frustration I reckon) but still no eggs...they are still very young but I believe rams become sexually mature quite early.

And yes I love Cardinals!

That is something I have thought about, but the rams would be fair easier to catch and if they do breed would require more space no? I'd love to have the CPD's in that tank and a nice big shoal like that
