First Proper Planted Tank

Let them spawn in the 70 and then remove them to the 110 and use the 70 as their grow out tank. :good:

Hi man, absolutely loving the set-up. Seriously dude, well done. : ) I've just purchased the same light unit for my 70L. One of the T5's is a white (well bright !), and the other one is red (Not very bright at all). Just wondering if you switched the tubes ? Or kept the red and white ?

Thanks dude really appreciate your kind words!! I have kept the bulbs it came with but the red/pink is dying so I need to replace (had it about 5-6 months a while before I went hi-tech with it), will probably replace both bulbs (so will need to ask for some expert opinions on the new bulbs) The originals have done fine as you can see, it really is a cracking unit and for the price is unbelievable!

Glad to hear they're the standard bulbs ! I was just a little concerned, but after seeing your tank, I needn't be. And the unit is awesome, managed to snap one up for 35 - only a few weeks old. A steal.
Looking forward to your next update. :)

Looks nice Jay! For the background: since you have all 'grassy' types, why don't you continue that for the back? You could have valls, giant sagittaria, c. balansae... These are the ones that come to mind. Although valls don't do well with CO2, right?

Was thinking about maybe some Vallis, I believe liquid carbon can effect it? not sure on pressurised CO2, I'm going to grow an anubias on the right side of the wood.

any thoughts

Yes! Do it. :fun: Just know that I said I'm using Vallis in my grassy tank first, so don't go calling me a copy cat later
