If you are in any doubt about water conditions, when it comes to corys, do a water change. That will often head of problems before they have a chance to develop.
I do water changes twice a week on all of my smaller tanks, especially during the summer. Remember, you are not losing beneficial bacteria by doing this since they are clinging to the surfaces, not free floating in the water.
