First Ever Sw 55 Us Gallon Tank

My lfs has said the flames are generally ok, they put them in their frag tank before selling to see what they are like!! Flames are lovely, they are on my list :D

Yea i was in my SUPER HIGH END ($$$$$$) LFS and saw the beautiful flames. when i saw them my jaw dropped and i knew i wanted one. I feel very reassured now that u and nemo think it will be ok.

Well Im getting one so we could be in the same boat :D haha!
I think its like they say with a lot of the socalled coral eating fish, if they are well fed they will leave them alone!

Tunze overflow box - dont be tempted by cheaper ones without an anti-syphon

So is the tunze an intake and out? And does a sump basically work like this: water goes in intake by gravity the throughout the sump and back out again by use of outage and a pump? Does that sound about right?

http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=18358 would this one be okay? I get how the sump works now. It goes in through the overflow box then through the sump and out with the water pump through ur choice of out take plumbing. Right?

Wouldn't an anti siphoning hole in the outtake do the job? The level of my aquarium water wont drop due to Auto top off that i will install.

if i attached this:http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+10090+8016&pcatid=8016 to the intake and if i had a power outtage just turn the valve to turn the water off. And as precaution drill a hole in the out take. Would this work?

P.S. Just bought a used RO unit. Pics when it arrives.

what do u think of my sump design?

So far im just buying things i'll need for sump nothing really notable. But i was wondering what size vortech would be good to run on the tank. it is 55 gal and will be a reef tank. I would really like to only buy 1 but i am prepared to buy 2 if needed.

Thoughts?
