Hi

I have had my fish now for exactly 2 weeks and I came in from work this morning and found a dead body.

Looks like it got trapped behind filter. Took a while to fish out (Well I hope it was that). Not a nice way to go. I feel sad for the poor little fellow but also noticed this morning that one of my leopard danio's were nipping at my cory's and the other fish when feeding. Does anybody else have experience of this with danios?

I have decided to do a water change just in case.

Danios are shoaling fish, and if my knowledge is correct, if a shoal should be kept in numbers of 6+ to distribute aggression. Otherwise they can get nippy. How many do you have? I have 8 danios myself and they're rather peaceful with the other fish.

Somebody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I have got 5 danio's but this one seems be quite aggressive.

I've got 7 danio and also 1 of them is quite aggressive, sometimes chases off platy aswell as the other danio..
Never seen it go for my cory mind, i'll have to keep an eye out.

What are your tank dimensions? Danios need quite a bit of room and as with all fish can get aggressive if they're in a tight space

Danios are in my opinion semi-aggresive. Had one that bit off the tail of another danio and was also nipping at pregnant guppy. I had to put him in with the goldfish for a week to calm him down. Now he is OK with all the tetras, guppies and other danios. And by the way the tail partiallly came back on the wounded danio.
