Hi Guys,
After 6 weeks of cycling I have finally finished :hyper:.
My results:
Ammonia - 0
NitrIte - 0
NitrAte - Between 0 and 5... closer to 0 though.

Thinking of going fish shopping tomorrow!

A couple of questions.

Could I move my tank tonight to the place whee it will be and do the water change then and get fish tomorrow morning?

Also could I keep a Betta in my tank?

Its a 65 Litre tank and the only fish that I'm certainly getting is 6 Neon tetras!

Thanks for any help :)

I wouldn't keep a betta with tetras, and tetras are better put in when the tank matures more maybe 6 months time.

Moving the tank will be fine.

Congrats on getting through your fishless cycle :good:

Oh ok. Thats good as it will probably only be 15 hours from the move till getting the fish :D

I never knew that about tetras?
So if I get a betta now and wait some months the tetras will get on with it?

I have a betta in with my neons and a couple of coreys in my 10 gallon. I haven't had a problem. Aggressive fish should always be introduced to the aquarium last. So I would have the neons in first and then add the betta. Also keep in mind that it's not always the betta that is the problem when in a community, a lot of fish like to nip at the betta's long colorful fins. So many times it's the betta that's the actual victim. Neons are not usually nippers. So I personally don't see a problem with them together. Just remember to keep up on the water changes especially with the neons.

Bettas are risky fish for a community, they tend to either bully others or get bullied (fin nipped) themselves.

Neon Tetras, despite the myth and often sales push at the fish shop, make horrible first fish. As said earlier, if you really want six, save stocking space for them for ~6 months time ;)

Are there any other fish on the "must have wishlist?"

As a ballpark size, look for fish that grow less then 6cm long and give us a list of what fish catch your eye. Danios, despite being very hardy and a good size, need more space than you can offer them. My Pearls can and often do zip from end to end of my 48" long tank in a second. Cory catfish, depending on species, will need your tank to be running well for at least 6 weeks.
