So the tank is finally cycled and ready to go. I’m collecting my pea puffers tomorrow. Nice fat ones I’ve got too!

It’s scaped with Dragoon stone, and spider wood. Planted with some stems and epiphytes.

Nice coverage of the background for hiding places too.

I’m now debating to add some ramahorns snails as a clean up crew ‘adults’ I do know pea puffers will eat baby snails but I’m reality I guess that will keep the population down.

What’s the pros and cons of these snails?

Pros are they are good little cleaners and got some nice colour to them.

Cons are they multiply quite quickly (which you might be ok with the puffers picking them off) and if you have a sand substrate they dont aerate it unlike mts do. Most other snails dont tho tbf

PPs will eat the adult snails, too
Aye, and if they come across other fish or shrimp for instance they'll also take bites out of them.
That said they do look quite cute in a nicley set up tank though they don't have a lot of movement.

Thanks guys, it’s a PP only tank, bar the possible snails. I think the natural look of the pea puffers and snails would set of the scape nicely. But I’m still in two minds about the over population of snails.

Whats the chances of the snails eating my healthy plants?

You wont get an over population of snails with puffers so don't worry about it :) I now have a colony of big pink ramshorns that I put in as food but they are too big for my puffers so looks like I'm stuck with them... would have preferred to get the blue ones but the pink ones stand out better when I need to 'tidy up after lunch' but the blue ones look better IMO.

That’s my issue as they will be in the same tank as the puffers not a seperate one, unless I make a small tank for them wife may kill
Me tho.

My only snail problem was/is with Bladder snails. Pea Puffers made short shrift of them but they don't get very big, even though they breed like --- well----bladder snails.
I've seen small tanks holding nothing but some of the more colourful snails and they seem to look OK. If you could breed them, there's a decent source of income too.

I could breed them in the same tank as the puffers that’s about it, I do have another 30L I’m currently scaping but that’s for shrimp.
