Im about half way through the cycle and just want to fire out a quick question re filtering.
I have added 20kg of live rock to my tank so obviously that will do some of the filtration.

I also have an external Ehiem Pro 3 with the following media in it (which came standard):

it also has a blue sponge and a pre filter pad.

I also have an internal filter Juwel bioflow 6 which can with the tank which has the following media in it:

Is it ok to run these in a marine tank, the websites all say they are marine safe.

as far as i know they are marines safe, but you dont need them. live rocks by far the most efficient form of filteration in a marine tank, if i were you i would run one with rowa and carbon in it, then the other with a filter sponge you change/wash on weekly water change day to remove any solid waste.

Cool thanks, I dont mind cleaning them out weekly I just wanted to make sure it wasnt going to do the fish harm.
I will run them in that case just as a added bit of filtration.

Thanks for the info.

You have morer than enough rock in your tank for filtration, i would do as Ben suggested, although I would only run the one, with my rowa etc in. Two is a waste of electric :p

Might just keep one ready as a spare in that case.

Stupid question and I think I all ready know the answer but when I add the 2 powerheads will that improve the live rock filteration as it will be causing more water flow over them?
