Filter Foam

Hello, long time viewer but never posted. I have always bought filter foam from e bay (I guess it was always the same supplier - came rolled up but cheap (ish)!) but have tried tonight and I cant find anything that is anything (may just be me - never took note of my usual supplier) near reasonable - any advise ? I like to change all my filter foams every month, rather than clean ! In the past I have been able to buy various poristy from the same supplier but colour was never guarantined, ideas ?

I am trying to understand what you are using as your biological filter. Most of us have foam or sponge material as a primary biological filter. That would make it a poor idea to replace it monthly. If you have plenty of other material for biologicals, why not just use some filter floss as your fine mechanical medium?

I have the porous ceramic things, I thought these were where most of the bacteria lived - I use the filter foams at the inlets of my externals to take the gunk out

I get mine from finest filters. They have their own website, or the Ebay username is the same!!!
