Female Ram Dying And White Spot

Hi all,i woke up this morning and found my female ram sucked up against the filter(internal).And about 1-2 hours later it had died .I noticed a couple of days ago it was flicking itself off leaves.There was no swealings or any wounds.I put it in a breeding tub to keep an eye on it.It was just spinning upside down.
What could have caused its death?

And secondly some of my fish have got white spot,Is this something what white spot treatment can get rid of?

Have you tested your water? If so what are the stats?

And if the white spots are like grains of sugar on the fish then get some white spot treatment like Protozin.
