I went to go to bed last night and did the usual check on the fish thing. When I went by the girls I noticed that the water was a little cloudy so I took a closer look. On of my girls had burst it looked like Ihad to put her down as she was suffering but alive. It looked like she produced too many eggs and burst is that possible if so what do I do witht he other 3 females??
They are in a ten gall tank that is heavily planted 2 filters in it (undergravel and aquaclear whatever hangs from side of tank) the water is 80 degrees and they are just being fed Betta Min. Help I dont want to lose any more girls

Do a 25% water change, they should be fine. Its sounds like maybe your deceased female may have been eggbound, or maybe there was somthing blocking of up her digestive track, then again she probably would have stopped eating before she exploded. was she acting werid at all before she ruptured? werid swimming, discoloration, loss of apitite?

No she was not acting wierd and didnt show any sign of wanting to breed other then beinging fat. NO she was really active since the day I got her and a pig wow if she had had a loss of appitite I honestly would not have had to put much food in the tank. As for coloration no she had a White Pink Body with Purplely Pink fins she was the spade tail type.

She was reallly really fat.

IF she was egg bound why? I have done nothing really to condition them lately as I have fry right now and didnt want any more fry. Plus out here in AB noone sells live food so its alittle harder to condition them then I would like.

Most of the ltf (dont know what the means I mean Petstores) dont even know what conditioning is, ect Big Als and Dads fish Room that is.

What do I do to stop my other 3 females from bursting. On of them loses eggs if I take her out of the water in a net or if I simpply put the net in the tank she gets nervous and releases some eggs.

Please help!

Females can become eggbound sometimes pretty much at random. It's somewhat rare, but it happens. Basically it's when she's unable to pass eggs or reabsorb them into her body, so they just keep building up. Females are constantly producing ripe eggs, they just tend to rid their own bodies of excess eggs on their own, but when something goes wrong with that process it can be fatal.

Edit for typo
