Feeling Well And Truly Miffed.

Doubt any ones really interested but will post Anyways always there then for future reference! Well I'm chuffed already! He seems full of life today! Have given him a good feeding of bloodworms and the usual ravenous betta feeding habit he is showing Slight once more! He looks healthier, eyes have cleared and look rather shiny! Going well so far!!

I'm interested! I've been reading your updates and I'm very glad things are going well and the wee man is coming round!

Keep up the good work and keep us posted...

Oh that's OK Lol thought I was mainly posting to my self ha! Thanks again for you'r help and everyone else who have posted of course! I will Deffo post a pic once he's looking better and full of colour! Was going to take a pic using the flash whilst he's in the dark to see the extent of it still seems rather golden colored but I guess they have to drop off first before they're eliminated!

I'd resist the temptation to take a pic with flash just for now. Any stressing could set him back a bit. You're doing a good job so far it would be a shame to take a step back!

Oops I tried a couple! I did think that but he seemed totally unfazed by it! Pictures were rubbish well I shall bother him no more! Only to feed him!! And thanks bb he seems well ATM fingers crossed touch wood!

Someone else needs to chime in... but I've always been told not to dose salt and meds at the same time.

I'm keeping up with this string as well ... I just have nothing else to add.

In a different post I made, other people told me NOT to use salt - apparently there is quite a debate about it ... but my betta didn't have velvet so I'm not implying you shouldn't. I do know you shouldn't keep adding salt - just add [aquarium] salt to the new water when doing water changes.

Glad to see Niles seems to be better :)

On the pack it's said for when treating with a disease! From all iv read it seems to imply helping the meds and as velvet attacks the gills or causes excess mucus the salt helps aid the respiration of the fish! But I guess people are always going to have different ideas it's just what works for them! He seems to be far better now then he was before so all I can say is it's clearly doing no harm! But Anyways all thoughts welcome.

Just had another look on the carton of salt to remind me what it actualy said and it says " used to improve the efficiency of medications " and double checked through the instructions of the medication and mentions nothing so Hopefully he's safe enough! Thanks for all the thoughts and help peeps!!

Yea he seems well! Swimming around front of the tank scoffed down some blood worms so his appetite definitely an improvement! Havnt noticed so much of a golden sheen on him today so improvements all round I'd say!!

Just a quick update! Something I found to be somewhat amusing, I know I'm easily pleased! This evening every time I check in on him i catch him at the back swimming against the current. He'll then turn back then swim against it! Like what is he doing! A good sign he must be feeling healthy enough to do this, like some betta work out or something! It's a fairly powerful filter in which case I had to turn the nossle to dissipate the flow but it's still fairly strong, quite surprised he finds such ease with swimming against it!! Haha funny fella!!
