ok i have 8 fish? i really dont know how much to feed them. i dont want to over feed the but i dont want to under feed them. today was the first day of feeding them and i put a couple of pinches in there. can u over feed the fish? i know u can under feed. what when is enough enough :grr: thanks again

It's always better to underfeed than to overfeed. Overfeeding leads to bloat & constipation in many fish as well as polluting the tank. Fish in the wild eat sporadically, never any set time or amount. I read somewhere that a fish's stomach is around the size of it's eyeball, this should give you a general idea. It's good practice to skip a day of feeding weekly with adult fish, it gives the fish's system a chance to clean out.

Hi. Feeding really is one of the harder things to figure out i think because the fish always look like they are starving hungry. What i do is get a really small pinch of food between my fingers and give it to them. Then i wait until they get it all. Then i'll do the same a second time and wait again. Usually i stop there, but once in a while i'll give them a little extra. If you stop and wait for them to eat the small pinches, then it'll take them some time to eat. I usually only do this twice and by that time a couple of minutes has gone by and that's really enough.
