So hard to choose! Silver dollars are awesome, but I like danios and beacon fish.

dont want to burst your bubble but, danios, silver dollars are cyprinids (not charcins(the tetras family)) not sure on the beacon fish

Any Tetra at an LFS that isn't in with a Betta and nipping fins.


Not a Tetra fan myself, but if I had to choose, probably Rummynose.

My fave is still the neon. Hardy and looks great in a schoal or on it's own. Breeding is possible too, i've had mine spawning in the tank.

i wouldnt say neons are hardy, miss conception IMO a 6months plus stable set-up that has had time to mature is suitable for neons no sooner, new tanks will kill them.

In my experience they've been ok. Yes i've lost a few, but that's normally a sign of something else wrong in the tank, They're almost my canary fish.

dont get me wrong there very nice fish just the, mature tank situation they need and thrive in

Have to say silver tipped just because they are the first I have ever had and despite the lack of colour like the neons they are quite entertaining!

I'd have to say my favorite is Astyanax jordani, aka Blind Cave Tetras. They are active fish that get along well with my corydoras.

i want to change mine, after i recently purchased 10 ember tetras, which are going in my new tank. (not recommended i know)

so my fave tetras at the moment are embers, lovely little guys

Cardinals or Black Neons,i think probably the blacks as they have more character than your usual brain dead Neon/Glow Light/Cardinal but Cardinals are prettier to look at.
