I agree with many of these people that having any kind of animal suffer is not funny at all. I know your intentions weren't meant to hurt or insult but next time you have to be more careful about what you say.

I agree some people need to slow down and look at both sides.

Im sure he didnt find it funny that his fish died, but even i think if i saw my fish jam themselves into sometyhing id call them a 'silly fish'. My clown loaches jam themselves into my bog wood alot and it takes me an hour to find them. And when i do it makes me laugh they're not stuck but its, funny the tendecies of some fish.

Dont get me wrong i think that people laughing at the suffering of animals including fish is wrong.

thats not what im saying is it... The dog may have been silly for running around but the fun end when something gets hurt... do you understand what im saying now?

its funny when animals do funny things... when it suffers then its not funny anymore do i think it was funny that his fish died because it stuck itself into something... no do i think it was funny when my shrimp jumped out of my tank and died? ... no

What im trying to say is that sometime animals do funny thing that make us smile. i smile too. when it turns out that this funny act hurts the animal i stop smiling, if there was ever a chance that the animal would be hurt by his act if not funny anymore.

Please dont get me wrong i dont like seeing animals get hurt... even silly ones

I'll agree with Wilder. I think we probably misunderstood the original intent of fubarmick's post. Like I said - my apologies to all. Fish can do silly, crazy things. It's just unfortunate it kills them sometimes.

By the way. About a year ago I had a cory get very firmly stuck in a little cave ornament I had in a tank. It took quite a a bit of firm but gentle force to push him through as he'd outgrown the hole in the cave. The cory was always active when I approached the tank - till that event. Now when I go to the tank he runs & hides in the back behind a plant - I swear he fears & hates me now, even though I saved the little booger's life (and got stuck by one of his darn pectoral spines in the process!). Who says fish don't have memories!

I think the person was saying that they found it funny that his fish had gotten itself stuck, but not when it actually died from being possibly nipped while it was stuck.
I'm sure they weren't sitting there with a big grin on their face when they saw that their poor fish had ended up dead as some people seem to think.
Yeah it was worded a bit weird but I think people were just too quick to judge.

As for lighthearted stories... one of my danios had gone missing for a few hours. I looked around all over the place for her but didn't see her. I started messing around with the decor again and what do I see sticking out from under one of the larger rocks? Yep.. a little yellow tail. OMG I about had a heartattack. I quickly took it off of her and she darted out. It scared me to death at the time, but I look back on it now and it just makes me laugh Silly fish.
