Fantasy Betta on Aquabid

He's very pretty, but no, I wouldn't pay that for him when there are so many beautiful bettas much cheaper. Of course, my limit is $5. :p

He's gorgeous but I wont pay that much for any fish...I'd be too worried if something happens to him, its just too much to risk, even on a gorgeous betta. My limit would probably be $10.

I don't think he's really worth $200 even on the show betta circuit. Maybe they just didn;t take a great pic, should have out a light background behind him. His fins look too pale for melano. Maybe he is a butterfly, but that isn't in his description. His anal fin is quite a bit longer than his tail, which isn;t a big deal, but if you are paying $200 for a fish, it had better be perfect. And I don't think he is perfect.

I am not trying to be mean, just looking at it through a show judge eyes (or pretending to, as I am not one.)

I like black bettas. But he doesn't pull that off as well as I would like. The marble body takes some color away, as do the clear fins.

Blah blah blah...do you know how many other bettas one could buy with $200? Even really nice ones off Aquabid...

I probably would not. The most that I have spent to this point is $90. If you want some really nice bettas at a bargain then you need to go to a IBC show/auction. You can get some extremely nice show fish for as little as $10. I think out most expensive sale was about $40 at our last one.

i wouldnt pay that much for a fishy especially if it was to be sent in the mail unless it like burped diamonds or something!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Little rich for my taste...and I agree the anal fin is quite a bit longer then I'd like for it to be (if paying 100 for a fish..the fish starts at 100..the "buy it now" is 200).

It's good they are so proud of theri fish, but I can see them not getting rid of that one anytime soon. lol

See you want a fish that burps diamonds..I want a cat that poops gold nuggets...I wouldn't mind cleaning out the litter box then :D.

It's a nice-ish Betta, but personally, I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it (even if money isn't an issue) - and even then I wouldn't buy it. The most I've spent on a single fish was approx $100.

Know the feeling, I'll take one of those, too. :p

He's lovely but I can't imagine I'd ever pay so much for one fish. My limit is 5-10 dollars for a pet, and if I was going to breed I don't think I'd go higher than 40-50 for some really good show-line bettas. I think that if money was truly no object for me, and I really had 100-200 dollars to spend on a fish, I'd spend it on several different fish instead, or maybe a really gorgeous display tank or something.

He is cute. I don't like the marbling red-brown color on his head. It reminds of some kind of skin lesion. I think if I saw him in a store I'd probably pass him up unless he had some great outgoing personality. Then, I might give him a try. But $7 would be my max. (Because with $7 I can buy two lovely VTs for that!) :p He is interesting though.
