Fantasy Betta on Aquabid

That first guy looks: Orange, Steel, Celo, and black. I like the oddballs, but I don't all that coloe is too good for showing. I wouldn't pay $100 for "interesting".
If I pay $100, it better be for a pair, and you can bet I'd be breeding them.

THat orange/gold, I do like. I am working on oranges now. Seeing that fish, makes me want to try for that next.

Also thought of mixing gold, and green. Maybe a lime green would be neat.

Here's another for you (albeit not as expensive though  )

That is just down right neat looking...how the white rays are seperated by a shorter black ray.

If I hadn't just bought that black plakat (not that I'd have bought this one instead mind you) I'd definately buy him lol.

Blue really has always been my favorite color...just one more betta couldn't hurt, right??? He's very charming.

I saw a "Zoro" betta on Aquabid once that went for over $200... I think his starting bid was really low too, like $20. He was solid white with a black "mask" over his eyes. I imagine the seller was pleased . The buyer, however, will probably not be so pleased when they breed him only to realise that he doesn't produce lots of little Zoros, and he's just a regular ol' marble with a lucky pattern :p

lol I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to try to reproduce that, but frankly if I had that kind of money to throw around I might get him just to show him off

As it is, I think if I actually managed to save $200 I'd put it towards really fantastic breeding stock- a pair or two of truly spectacular parents, with one or two backup males and females, just to safeguard against any accidents *wanders off to dream*

ETA: ooh, and shelving units and betta display cases for all the juvie fry. Really nice looking ones . . . a plant in each . . . gah

Stupid Americans who get Aquabid... pffft......

I'd say I'd spend about £15 maximum on a betta, and only if that was to breed.

$200 for a fish! That's like several of my bills! Wow! And I thought Fassolt and Fafner at $7.95 a piece were expensive. I am in the minor leagues, compared to others!
Wow! I'm speechless! That's a lot of money! :fun: But if you've got that sort cash, why not?

While the betta-obsessive part of me agrees wholeheartedly, the dog-owning student part of me shouts "Vet bills! Textbooks! Tuition!" and refuses to let the other, crazier part take over :p
