Fantail Goldfish

hi i was just wanting to know how to tell if it's a girl or a boy (fantail goldfish)one of my fantails has recently gone quite chucnky, does that mean its pregnant or can you not tell that? Thanks alot!

They don't get pregnant. The only reliable way to tell them apart, is that during breeding season (now) the males get what looks like ich spots on their heads and pectoral fins. Females will get fatter with eggs.
