My mom bribes. That is how she operates. So, my report card came today, and at the beginning of the year, she promised me 5 dollars for every B, and ten dollars for every A. Well, I've wound up with 45 dollars, and my mom told me I could spend it however I want, because I've earned it.

Well, I am thinking about buying another betta (there are so many sickly ones at my lfs) and a new HOB filter for my 30 gallon, and if I have enough left, a heater for Dory's tank.

Just thought I'd get input on my plan.

OOOh good luck with that, oohfeeshy. What a great idea! I just remembered also that I will have about 20-30 bucks this weekend from petsitting. Maybe more, because that dog was a TON of work. So, that could mean another little tank and betta for my room! this could get awesome.

My whole house has been taken over by animals! LOL. I have... 12 pets in my room and 23 in the living room (I miscounted like 5 times! )... and 4 more girlies from Yeevia next week!!! *jumps up and down in excitement* I'm so bad...

Thanks for the support. My parents have no idea what I am scheming, because I fear if I tell them now, they'll pull that "you can spend it on anythig BUT fish" and an arguement will ensue. So, my plan, is to casually make a comment tomorrow (when I get paid for petsitting, I tend to have to splurge all at once, because my parents won't take me to the lfs often) on how I need more bedding for my hamster. So, she will offer to take me, since she doesn't work fridays, and I'll quickly pick up the bedding, the filter, the fish and some sort of tank. The way I see it, I can get 2 bettas, (I have a spare 1 gal) another small tank, a penguin HOB bio wheel filter, and some medicated food for my poor guppy. THEN, slip it on the counter, and whatch the look on my mom's face. Then, whip out my money before she can say a thing, and pull the old, "well, you SAID anything I wanted!"

I hope it works! So far everyone in my family has detassled corn, but not me (I'm next to be old enough to do it) because we just had to move to one of the most snobbiest subberbs where the only farm for miles around is the historical farm that my 4H (which no one here has ever heard of) is at.

Good for you Orky...too bad you are not in northern Cal. They have a place called Pet Club and you can get a 1 gal tank for 6.99. You could get a whole family of Bettas LOL.

That's awesome. 6.99? Well, my first idea was to try and find an ecuse to go to the dollar tree store and see if they have anything. Once, when I was there they had these three gallon glass jars for, you guessed it, a dollar. But I didn't keep betts then, but OH how I wish I had gotten some!

EDIT: My father officially rocks. Ok, so I set the laptop down so I could go upstairs and check on my fishies. My dad must have read this thread I left up, because he came up to me, and said,

"Hey, tomorrow, if you're interested, I have a weeding job for you. You could earn five bucks, and put it towards another fish. Just don't tell your mother... "
