Hey guys! So I started a new tank today. It is the Tetra LED 1.5g, I know small. But will be my tank upstairs and will have shrimp in it. Eventually will be high tech just like my big 15g will be.

Here is the box- I may have gotten a little too excited

For size reference, the filter and light

They didnt have sand, so I bought black gravel. I quite like it.

And, last but not least, the temporary setup.

Thats about it. When I get sand it will have the same sand that my 15g will have, and I will get a background for this. Will plant it with nano plants, and shrimp will be added tomorrow. Added some of my filter media.

Next step is substrate, and then plants :) Then a new light, some pressurized co2, and better plants. Hope you all enjoy my new journey!

Shouldnt you add the plants and sand before the shrimp ellie, just so you dont have to worry about over stressing them when you put everything in, and sometimes new plants can have chemicals on  them that shrimp are sensitive to, but i doubt youll run into that issue.

It wont be a while until I have plants and shrimp, and when I move the new stuff in they will go in the 15g. The plants I buy from a source who puts nothing in his tanks except fish, plants, ferts, etc. No extra chemicals :D

Will be putting my moss ball in it soon. I need nano plants!

Thanks. Was surprised how good the light was and how my quick scape looked :)

Looks good & cute. Can't wait to see what you do with it :)

I can get a small one for $3, perfect size for this tank. Plus I have one in the 15.

Thanks nin :D

I've got that filter running in my snail tank. It's not a bad filter for the size actually. I like that rock thing in there. It looks neat.

The shrimp will definitely love that moss ball. I can't keep mine out of it when I've got shrimp in the tank.

Yeah got my moss ball for 7, pain in the butt! Sadly there aren't really any other stores near me.  I hate getting fish from them, I prefer people who just need to rehome the fish or are done with tanks that way they are usually healthy and I can look at the other fish.
PS I also Have the same filter in my betta tank. :)

Neat little tank!

I kinda like the gravel, why change it later for sand, the shrimps will be fine on that gravel as well as the plants.

Look forward to seeing how this progresses

Its not terrible, but I did have to hook up a more powerful air pump so it would work properly. And, I will add the moss ball for sure, eventually getting a smaller one :)

Yea, I was looking at it and i looks right. I didnt rinse it, and no extra color, which is nice.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

I decided it will be an Iwagumi setup which IMO is perfect for shrimp. Will have either dwarf baby tears or marsilea minuta, both plants I love :)
Will have to see if I can find some slim, tallish rocks though :)

3 for £11 here, spent the walk home confused as to why they're so expensive. Out of the LFS' here, that was the cheapest.

Added shrimps today with full cycle :) Pictures of tank when dark without flash to show true colors. Also moved tank so I can see from my bed easier. Pictures of shrimp as well.

Fed them today as well. 1/3 of an API Algae Wafer and a tums. That should last the week :)
