Is it just me that thinks that Ehiem are the worst filter makers in the world????

Everyone praises them but in reality they are garbage.

Worst money ever spent 2028 ehiem

I've nerver personally had one but herd they are the 'best'.
I've have fluval and rena and had no problems.
Whats up with yours?

must be a defect. eheims are the most reliable and best canisters out there. people regularly come into my lfs with 30 year old eheims to get new substrate or carbon pads, they're still going strong.

At a quick glance it looks like DVD with weird bits inbetween.

I would like to know what problems you are having with your filter. I have 4 differen Eheim canisters, and show them no mercy. Overstocked breeding setup, cleaned every 4 to 6 months. The only one that is used in a normally stocked situation is a 2026 on a 65 with an ac300. 7 angels, a few corys & a couple of plecs. It gets cleaned every 6 months, and is only half dirty.

When properly set up, these filters run for years without a problem. It may be a problem with your setup, or your specific application. a 2028 on a smaller tank would be like a washing machine, my 2026 creates plenty of turbulance in my 65.
