I hope you have him pretty much alone, I had two of them and they were vicous when the lights go out

Looks like a Bunocephalus species, possibly B. amazonicus or more probably B. coracoideus, it is the commonest one imported. There are 4-5 species that look pretty similar.

Spot on, it's a Banjo catfish Bunocephalus coracoideus. I have two.

Blade, I have three Dragon gobies and they seem fine with eash other and everyone else.

There are three species sold as Dragon or Violet gobies and all three look very similar, two of them are peacefull, one of them, which has a slightly shorter body, can be aggresive towards tankmates of all species. Maybe you had the aggressive species

how brackish are they? you said mildly brackish. meaning .005? .010?
does the salinity need to be increased as the get older like most bw fish?
ive always wanted one but they need a 29+gal tank and i dont have an extra laying around ...or enough marine salt to keep one going...
my 2 brackish tanks are 10 and 5 gal!

Yea, considering they can get up to two feet depending on the type you end up with.
