i went into mine the other day for some back ground and they had just had a softy shipment in, 200 softies, i said where are they and he said were acclimatizing them and he showed me all the behind the scenes stuff. it was interesting, i spent 2 hours just talking to the guy

ive got a pretty good relation ship with my LFS because i buy everything from there.

i wish my lfs was that good so i can buy everything from one, i have to shop at different ones to get what i need, i find that they each specialise in different areas, prestwood petzone has great catfish, odballs and discus, wheres forty fathoms just has the most popular(boring) tropicals and a few marines, then slippery sales has a great ammount of fish, but no plants, hardly any tanks(to buy) and hardly any equipment. its a joke

You'd be surprised how often I can find an excuse to nip into a LFS for a good old nosey.

This weekend for instance, I'll be taking my Mum to her favourite garden centre for ...er... 'shopping and a coffee' (honest!) Sometime during the trip, I'll be in the aquatics section, cooing like a demented pigeon over all the lovely lil' fishies!!

LOL yeah, I do every week! The owner there even asked me if I was setting up a business from my home as I kept buying so much stuff

I've calmed down a bit since then (case of having to with this recession on) but I still pop in for a chat, look around and buy the odd thing - usually live foods or plants.

I find it very calming to the soul being surrounded by so many aquariums, watching the many different fish and listening to the gentle bubbling of the airstones...

Great de-stresser if you're having a busy shopping day!

I don't have any good LFS's around me, best I have locally is P@H and Acorn Pet Centres...But I tend to have a nosey round them anyway when I'm out, not that I have any money! If I could drive then I would go into town and have a nosey around there but until then the fiance won't take me

My LFS is a good way from me, so i can only go when i need something. However i usually end up buying alot more than i go for!!

When I was home from college for spring break a couple of weeks back, I went to my LFS like 2 times every day throughout the whole week.

Never bought one thing.

Yes, any excuse at all, I am trying to find the ultimate fish shop, so keep travelling further and further afield. Haven't found it yet. strangely though, seem to always find something to buy lol (usually food or plants or tubing or ....... well (Also my VLFS is pants, so trying to avoid as much as possible).

hehe I am also doing that in my area. Traveled up to Bolton last week now this week going to Wigan (furthest yet) looking for a place called Peer aquatics. Can't wait Strictly browsing of course
