I avoid eating fish whenever possible because... well... I just don't like the stuff
Seafood has never been my thing. I don't usually like beef much either, but I eat it more often than I do seafood. Poultry and pork for me, thanks.

I’m afraid to eat fish. Recently in a nutrition class my prof advised for people not to have more than a few ounces a week! due to pollution. :( But I guess that depends where you live but who knows these days. From what he was saying and actually clean water action (I used to work for them) most fish have high mercury levels and other goodies.

I don't keep any fish that are big enough too eat. :p

I will eat most of the "drier" tasting fish like flounder. I don't like the "oilier" fish like trout.

I really like shrimp and crabs.

I eat fish.

In fact I have ate large piranhas and stewed gold nugget plecs. I have the photos to prove it!

Yum yum!

Ate them whilst travelling in the Amazon.

My trip has been published on a web site on the net.

i don't eat most fish/seafood because i don't like the taste... i keep trying though, because i know that it is good for me!! i also don't eat pork or beef, so i am always looking for a new protein source :p
i do have random types that i like... blackened catfish (well, anything blackened would drown out the fishy taste) and calamari with spicy marinara to dip into!!

I've heard that as well. You really have to be careful if you live down south... all rivers except the Nile run north to south, and the water flow carries all the pollutants and goodies with it. Bottom-feeding fish such as catfish are worse about mercury levels, too.

One of the best foods I've ever had was sashimi from a bonito that I caught off the shore of Catalina. I filleted and ate it minutes after I caught it and it was sooo goood, specially w/ the soy sauce and wasabi! Can't get any fresher that and I sortof thanked the fish for giving me food before I killed it , so it's all good. I had a tuna sandwich yesterday and I just finished a meal of chop, which has sardines in it. I love sardines. I don't eat much mammal meat, fish meat is much better and healthier. And the mercury thing is over-rated.

Just imagine: Golden Trout Burrito... My brother and I went hiking up in the Sierras and we were kindof low on breakfast food so one morning we woke up and went to the creek and fly-fished out couple of nice-size goldens. We'd cook up some rice and fry the trout, then just combine in a tort. No need for seasoning it was so fresh, you could eat the entire fish, crunchy. Golden Trout Burritos for breakfast at dawn. Yeah, good times...

I've heard about the mercury in fish as well. We went shark fishing on a big boat one summer and caught some small sharks. We let all of ours back, but at the end of the day there was a cooler full of shark so we took some home with us as it would be a waste to just throw it back into the ocean. But the guy who owned the boat told us not to eat it that it has a lot of mercury in it. :dunno:

I only eat fish that doesnt look like fish. Lol, if that makes any sense. If it looks like a slab of flaky filet its fine, but if I find a scale or anything I seriously feel ill. I fish as well, but catch and release. I know it may seem cruel as it still hurts the fish, but I love it. I am a horrible person :*)

I used to fish all the time, but I haven't been fishing since last december when I became addicted to fish. :D

If i'm remembering correctly I think its 3-4 oz/week max. My prof was saying that we can handle a certain amount of toxins like mercury ok but a build up will cause trouble. In the states, the number one killer of children is cancer and it's most likely environmental.

I like mussels, oysters and clams, but then I can't help but think that they are filter feeders... then I sort of lose my taste for them for a few moments.... It doesn't matter somehow if they are fried or just chunks in soup, but god, if they're whole....

Catfish is very good though.... yumyum

Crabs and shrimp ahhhhhh....

Calamari and sushi are sooo good.....

Damn, now I'm hungry for food I can't get a hold of :-(

Well Today being Good Friday I had Yummy Swordfish Steak grilled with a yummy sauce by the missus, served with crumbed Hake and seafood salad on the side (with chips of course) and not a twinge of guilt
