I was reading on another forum an idea for a DIY Nitrate Filter, it was made by cuting a hole in the bottom and lid of a tub of SEACHEM DE NITRATE REMOVAL FILTER MEDIA, inserting a pipe to the bottom and top of the tub and connecting the lower pipe up to a maxijet 400 to provide the flow and the top pipe returned back into the tank.
The Seachem De Nitrate states that as long as the initial nitrate level is below 20ppm and the flow of water is below 200lph that the media does not become exhusted.
Do you think this is an effective way of keeping nitrate levels down in an unplanted tank or a waste of time and money.
I can provide a link to the web page but I was not sure if it is ok to insert links to other forums or not, let me know if I can and I will.
let me know you thoughts please
Cheers
