i don't think that anyone has done it. but can you image what it would look like.

I would imagin it would look much like a discus as both specials look alot alike aside from the severums being a tad bit oval instead of round.

If i was to do this i would do it to achieve this.

Larger discus - could you imagin a 10 inch disus.
More forgiving to enviroment - Lets face it discus are VERY fragile to say the least.
Tougher - Being able to stand up to more aggressive cichlids.
Not as skidish - Severums are not nearly as skitish as discus.

Basically it would be a larger, tougher, cheaper :D discus.

baby severums should eat off the ground while baby discus live off the parents' slime. less chance of success than lab x keyhole.

(PS, you can already have a 10 inch discus if you take proper care of it)

the way the baby's eat is not a problem. people hand raise discus everyday.

no you can not have a 10 inch discus already. Have ever owned one? If you did you would know that the average size for one is 6 to 8 inches.

These fish are not even from the same genus, so you've probably got a better chance of seeing pigs fly than of getting a hybrid.

10 inch discus is not unheard of, like you said, average is 6-8 inches, which means some must be bigger to compinsate for the ones that are smaller... impossible hybrid though...dont waste your time.

i never thought about doing it. I really don't want to waste my time on creating another hybrid. I will leave that up to the hatcheries.

I just thought that it would create a nice fish.

who said discus dont get to 10 inches?
